Hi I'm Ciaran Thistle I am a Creative media Student with a passion for Games and Sci-Fi. ever since I was first shown Star Wars and Star Trek I have been fascinated by science fiction. then when I started playing games I wanted to learn how they was made but never knew how to learn or where so I never did.

While I was in school I decided to take Computer science Classes as one of my main ones for my GCSE's I ended up struggling with written work during this class and understanding processes in code but wanted to better myself understanding of code and computer processes. This is when I first started looking into how games are made and I started by trying to make a card game in Unity game engine this did not work at all as I had no programming and just an environment so I left it behind and stopped trying. and focused on passing the class this did not happen as Once covid started everyone was told the Final grade for all classes was going to be "Teacher assessed " this was a big problem I did not doo too well in Written work but I knew what I was talking about by this point I knew enough to pass my classes but there was no written proof of this so I failed all my classes.

Now during lockdown I had a lot of spare time and decided to look at game development again and this time it was different as I could focus on just this and this alone I started watching people like Dani Dev and Brackys just too name a few. I started to go back and make a few demo games just too see how it could work and if I could doo it.

I made a small game where you walk around a ship it was simple but I found it fun too make and was enjoying making it this game was called Next Gen. Then after watching Dani a bit more he started to make a game called Karlson and I decided to make a game inspired by it called Neon Runner.

I then spent until March of 2021 learning more and learning about Networking this then sparked a game with a really creative name called FPS. now after this spent a month making a new project called Multiplayer Test and then kept making games until August of 2021.

By the time I went to enrol into Collage I knew I was not going to be able to get into the course I wanted too and this made me want too give up and maybe look at going into a different path but the Tutors that was there said I had six weeks to prove I could be in the course I wanted to be in this made me determined to Be moved up into the course i wanted to be in. so when i started in September i was placed in Level 1 and 2 IT. I was in this course for less than a day when the Same tutor that was at enrolment pulled me aside and asked if I wanted to move to Level 3 Creative media this is the one i wanted to doo the entire time so i said sure and went in the next day but this time into Level 3 where I stayed I felt I was in the right place it felt right.

within the first week I stated a new Game that I wanted to release called CyberLeague a close quarters fps game. the game was made in a weekend with minimal sleep but it was playable the next day I went into collage the class played the game and we played it for a while this was good because I was getting live Feedback for the game and also the feeling of having people enjoy a game you have made for the first time is a feeling that can not be replicated. The game was Jank for better words but it was playable.

At the same time as doing my Level 3 i also had too Take GCSE English and maths now in my maths class my tutor would ask me questions about game development because the class was all IT and media students and she wanted to make the classes more relevant and engaging while helping us pass and an idea formed of a small puzzle game where you play as a ghost that pushes a box into a hole called Phantom Slide that then formed into Robo Rob.

At the same time I stated playing Star Citizen now I had been watching gameplay of it for years but could never play it but now I could. this was the point of no return it was at this point i knew exactly what my goal was and that was to Work at Cloud Imperium Games (CIG) they make Star Citizen and Squadron 42. I had so many ideas while playing the game I started to make my own version called Project Luna my pride and joy my Dream game. I would continue working on this game up until now with many issues and setbacks on the game it almost was like it should never be finished everything was telling me to stop but I still have not the game is my everything I want it to be perfect I don't want to release something half done after spending so much time on it.
